

Alice Parkison, 70, passed away January 29, 2013. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31st at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the house of worship of your choice or Kansas City Hospice House.
Alice was born July 6, 1942 in Sullivan, Missouri to George and Mabel Ware. They moved to the Piper area where she attended school and where she met and married her husband, Cary Parkison. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas and Alice worked as a waitress at Kelly’s Restaurant in Riverside as well as other restaurants. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casinos and garage sales. Alice enjoyed crocheting and baking, her polish sausage, potato and sauerkraut was pretty famous, but not always beloved by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mabel Ware, her sister, Georgia Cochran, sister Mary Lindsey, brother Timmy Ware and son-in-law, Danny Smart.
Alice is survived by her husband of 53 years, Cary Parkison of Grove, Oklahoma; children, Danny Parkison and wife Stephanie of Olathe, Kansas, Jeff Parkison and wife Lori of Piper, Kansas and Angela Smart of St. Joseph, Missouri; siblings, Doris Berg, Gladys Reed, Kenny, Donny, Ronny and Billy Ware; eleven grandchildren, Reed, Cary, Adam, Sam, Danielle, Jack, Baylee, Alison, Brett, Jennifer and LeeAnn; seven great-grandchildren, Donny, Parker, Brooklyn, Camrin, Aubreona, Jozlynn and Jordan, as well as many other family members and friends.
