Angela Curry 58 of Kansas City Kansas passed away peacefully at KU Hospital on August 10 2024, surrounded by her family. Angie was born on October 21, 1965 to Ima “June” White and JD Vaughn. Angie spent most of her younger years with her first husband Ed Cox, having 4 kids and her bonus son. They eventually divorced but forever stayed friends.
Angie is an avid Chiefs fan, she never missed a game. She spent most football Sundays at her daughter Erica’s house. Enjoying the company and of course John’s cooking. She loved playing bingo, especially when her kids went with her. Spending time with her kids was her favorite thing to do. Her joy in life was being a grandma, she has 19 grandkids and 4 great grandkids. She made sure to remember each and every one of their birthdays. She made sure she was at every birthday party so she could have the left over cake.
Angie is survived by her husband Mark Curry. Her sister Shari and brother Bobby. Her four kids Chris & Mindy Cox, Erica & Johnathan Burch, Heather & Billy Miller, Melissa & Amos Dizmang, and Michael and Sarah Woodrome. 19 grandkids and 4 great grandchildren. Being a grandma was her happiness, from the first to the last she loved each and every one of them. She took pride in being a grandma.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents. Her sister Vickie and brother Joey, and her two grandsons Ethan Woodrome and Carter Burch.
Angie will be missed forever but never forgotten. She is the best mother, sister, grandmother, and friend anyone could ever ask for.
A visitation for Angela will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Serving as pallbearers are John Burch, Amos Dizmang and Chris Cox.
