

Arlene May Scott, 95, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away November 7, 2017. Funeral services will be 3:30 pm, Saturday, November 18, 2017, with visitation from 2:00-3:30 pm preceding the service at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Action.
Arlene was born May 22, 1922 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin to Ben and Clara (Gras) Argust. She graduated from Merrill High School in Merrill, Wisconsin. After leaving Wisconsin she lived in Wilmington, Delaware and Smith Center, Kansas, before moving to Kansas City in the 1940s. Arlene worked for Sunshine Biscuit for eighteen years. She started on the line and worked her way to supervisor. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Arlene married George Scott in 1966. They were members of the Eagles Lodge, and enjoyed dancing, going to stock car and horse races, gambling, and bingo. Arlene loved country western music, crochet, gardening, word searches, and watching soap operas, especially Days of Our Lives and General Hospital. She volunteered with Cancer Action.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, George Scott; her parents, Ben and Clara Argust; her son, Bill Everett; and her sister, Delores Crawford.
She is survived by her children, Mike Hulke (Pat), Bobbie Simon (Ed), Catherine Vest, and Karen Taylor, three step-sons Rocky Scott, Larry Scott (Elizabeth) and Chris Scott (Linda), as well as thirty-three grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, twenty-seven great great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
