Barbara Jo Steele, 75, Basehor, Kansas passed away October 28, 2017. A funeral service will be Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will be immediately following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, 355 Lexington Ave., 15th Floor, New York, NY 10017.
Barb was born January 30, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Lloyd and Mildred Young. She moved to the Kansas City area in 1955.
She was preceded in passing by her parents and niece, Julie Young and great-nephew, David Young.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Tom Steele; children, Dennis (Kim) Lindsay, Cheryl (Steven) Abercrombie, and Dawn (Scott) Slavens; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Carl (Jennifer) Young, Jerry (Pat) Young, Joann Yazel and Ronnie Young; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, China.
