Bonnie J. Chapman

Bonnie Jean Chapman, 84, of Basehor, passed away April 29, 2014. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Friday, May 2nd at Wyandotte County Christian Church, 13700 Leavenworth Rd., KCK 66109. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th St., KCK.

Bonnie was born April 11, 1930 in Ponca City, OK to Odis and Ada Nickens. She worked for Safeway for 35 years and retired at age 80 after working as a home health aid for Catholic Charities for 14 years. Bonnie was a longtime member of Wyandotte County Christian Church. She was the consummate hostess and loved cooking for her family or anyone with an empty stomach.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Chapman and her grandson, Christopher Estep.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Mike Chapman of Shawnee, her daughter, Patti Brown (Dennis) of KCK; her sister, Jackie Buchanan of Neosho, MO; her grandchildren, Michael Chapman, II (Lynn) of Olathe, Bryan Estep of KCK and Steven Cushenberry of Shawnee; as well as several nieces and other friends and family.
