Bonnie Rose Vossler

Bonnie Rose Vossler, 91, of Tonganoxie, Kansas passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12th at the Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11th at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 11150 Thompson Avenue, Lenexa, Kansas 66219 or Bethel Congregation of Community of Christ, 8510 Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, Kansas 66109.

Bonnie was born on October 10, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas to Charles and Emma Simpson. She was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area, a graduate of Wyandotte High School and a member of Bethel Congregation of Community of Christ. Bonnie and Norman Vossler enjoyed 71 years of marriage before his passing in 2013. She was the office manager for the Urology Group PA for 17 years, retiring in 1985. Bonnie was a member of the Weaver’s Guild of Kansas City, and active in the Women’s Department at church. She enjoyed many crafts.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman, three sisters, one brother, and 2 sons-in-law, Jim Laird and Terry Bunkers.

She is survived by 3 children, Pennie Bunkers of Lenexa, Kansas, Roberta Laird of Kansas City, Kansas, and Norman Vossler, Jr. and his wife Pat of Tonganoxie, Kansas; 6 grandchildren, Tami Dolan and her husband Barry, Traci Bunkers, Tonya Pride and her husband Jeremy, Denise Herrman, Jim Laird, Jr. and his wife Jenny, and Matthew Vossler; 7 great-grandchildren, Bryan Dolan, Mitchell Dolan, Mason Pride, Noah Pride, Jayden Herrman, Carter Laird, and Morgan Laird; and one brother, Kenneth Simpson of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
