

Cecil J. Heath Sr., 93, of Kansas City, KS passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Cecil was born on September 23, 1917 in Iola, KS to Oscar and Lily (Cleaver) Heath. He served his country honorably during WWII in the U.S. Army. Cecil was a devoted member of Wyandotte Baptist Church. He worked over 41 years for the Union Pacific Railroad before retiring. Cecil and his wife Mary were members of the Union Pacific Railroad UPRRE Club 4, Unit 90, Wyandotte Baptist Church Senior Citizens Club, and The Old Timers Club. Cecil was always willing to help out a stranger. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars along with anything around the house that needed fixing. Until six months ago, he cooked and served his wife breakfast every morning. Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother who died serving during WWII. He is also preceded in death by 4 other brothers, 4 sisters, 3 nephews and 1 niece. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Mary (LeManske) Heath of the home, son: Joe Heath and his wife June of Kansas City, KS. daughters: Sheryl Heath of Kansas City, KS., Carol Bell and her husband Bill, and Mary Ann Davis both of Jefferson City, MO. Left behind to cherish his memory are his grandchildren: Ranuille A. Nowicki, and Mike Morris and his wife Kelli. Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 prior to the service at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: Kendallwood Hospice 2908 N.W. Vivion Rd.
