Doc was born on April 28, 1940 in Larned, Kansas to Galen and Mary Hubbell. Following high school, Doc joined the United States Air force in 1962, serving his country overseas in Germany as a Senior Airman/Sergeant.
After leaving the Air Force, Doc combined his passion for helping others with his love for movies, music and modern technology. Through his 20+ years with RadioShack, where he worked his way up from a clerk to a manager, and his 10 years of owning Doc’s Video, he not only helped thousands stay up on the latest technology and Hollywood hits, he fulfilled his dream of owning his own business.
Doc was a kind, gentle soul, who held many interests and they were as varied as his taste in music. He was a pilot, he was a self-taught drummer, a photographer, and was also known for his party throwing skills. For 20 consecutive years he played host to legendary gatherings for friends and family, all to celebrate one of his favorite holidays, Halloween.
Doc was a beloved husband, father, Papa, Grand Papa, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed, yet his mischievous smile, the glint in his eyes, and his full belly laugh will be carried in the memory and hearts of all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Doc was preceded in death by his parents, Galen Edgar Hubbell and Mary Josephine (Stegman) Hubbell.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife: Barbara Hubbell;
Children: Darcy (Robert) Aversman, Jennifer (Wayne) Westphalen, Nick (Gina) Hubbell;
Step-Children: Stephanie (Byron) Petsch and Chris Imhoof;
Grandchildren: Brandon, Ashley, Blayke, Joseph, Claire, William, Remington, Tristan, Katie, Ethan, Brendon, Tristan, and Austin;
