

Corazon “Cora” Bernardo Grant passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024. She was born on October 6, 1939, to Nicetas and Zoila Bernardo in Angeles City, Philippines. Cora attended Holy Angel College earning a degree in Commerce and began her career at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines.
Cora met her beloved husband, Nelson Grant, in the Philippines while he was serving in the United States Air Force. Cora and Nelson moved to the United States where they had their daughter, Sharon Grant-Guerra.
Cora used her wealth of knowledge and had an outstanding career with The Boeing Company for over 30 years before retiring. She was devoted to her faith and community service. Cora was a member of the St. Anthony’s Circle at St. Patrick Catholic Church as well as serving as a sacristan. She centered her life and had a deep love for her family. Cora is a testament and embodied the best of qualities: a strong independent woman, a hard work ethic, unconditional love, and an unending generosity.
Cora is preceded in death by her husband Nelson Grant; her parents Zoila and Nicetas Bernardo; brothers Roger and Nick Bernardo.
Cora is survived by her daughter Sharon Grant-Guerra (and favorite son-in-law, Jose Guerra); her grandson Cole Grant-Guerra; her granddaughters Sara Cheek (and husband, Matt), Elena Grant-Guerra, and Elesia Grant-Guerra; her great-grandsons Camden Cheek and Corey Cheek; her great-granddaughters Chandler Cheek and Carson Cheek; her sisters Rebecca Juan and Marcia Dimabuyu. She also leaves many other family members, dear friends, and her rambunctious furry daytime companion George, who will sadly miss her.
A Rosary will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, June 21st followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. A reception will follow. These services will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, KS. The family will hold a private Burial on June 25th at 11:00 am at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph, VT.
