Debra Swafford

Debra Kaye Swafford, 56, of KCK, passed away Oct. 22, 2013 at home surrounded by family. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Fri., Oct. 25th at Chapel Hill-Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Sat., Oct. 26th at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice, 3100 Broadway Street #1000, Kansas City, Missouri 64111.

Debbie was born June 6, 1957 in KCK and worked as an Insurance underwriter for USBA. She enjoyed organizing United Way fundraisers as well as planning and decorating for events at work. Debbie loved watching her grandkids play sports, gardening and finding bargains at thrift stores.

Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Erma Leach, her sister Diana West, brother, Ronald Balash, son, Christopher Utter and infant niece Tamara West.

She is survived by her former husband, Howard Swafford; children, Stacy Ray, Angel Simpson and Joel Swafford; grandchildren, Jesslyn, Frank and Donovan Buie and Zoey Swafford; and her best friend of 48 years, Barb Belt.
