"I and my husband were initiated in Gladiola Chapter 459 on March 5, 1965, it was our anniversary, I received my first station in 1967 from Sister Mary Ruth Yulich as Martha, in 1969 I was elected to the North, in January 1970 my husband had a massive heart attack, I continued on in the line, in 1973 Ernest and I were married, he joined the Masons and then Eastern Star in 1975, he went to the West in 1981 and has been Worthy Patron 7 times.
I retired from Avon Products in 1976 after 23 years as a payroll clerk, Ernest retired from General Motors.
We have 4 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great granddaughter.
I have three sisters and 4 brothers, Ernest had 2 brothers.
We have both been honored with numerous Grand Appointments, I was Grand Representative to Maryland, Ernest was Grand Representative to New Jersey. I have been President for Grand Representative Assoc. & the Subordinate Secretaries Assoc.
I have enjoyed my Eastern Star, we both enjoy traveling to the different Chapters. I was asked to be a Grand officer but living in Missouri I couldn't have it.
We have had the privilege of opening our home to several Worthy Grand Matrons, Worthy Grand Patrons. I want to thank the both of you for my appointment as District Aide I have enjoyed it very much.
