Earl “Sonny” W. Haworth, 91, born October 24, 1923 was called to join the angels in heaven on August 20, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Bonnie Haworth; son, Dann E. Haworth; daughters, Elizabeth Haworth and Carmaletta Gilmore and son-in-law, Steven Gilmore. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 1 step-grandson as well as 7 great grandchildren and 3 sisters.
Earl was a WWII Navy Veteran of the South Pacific Theater from 1942 to 1945. He survived 52 landings as a first class Boatswain Mate. He was a member of Plumbers Local #8 Kansas City, Missouri. For 62 years. In 1985 Earl and Bonnie retired to the lake home that they and many friends built. He was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. He will be missed by so many as he touched so many lives in wonderful ways.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 6th from 12:30-2:00PM with the funeral service to follow at 2:00PM and Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Legion Riders of American Legion Post 19, 315 Meadowbrook, Gardner, Kansas 66030.
