
Elvira "Myrtle" (Regan) Fisher, 89, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on September 18, 2014 in Shawnee, Kansas. Visitation will be held on September 22, 2014 from 9:30-11 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM both at Maple Hill Funeral Home, in Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kansas. Another angel was admitted through Heaven's Gates to find everlasting peace. Myrtle was born on November 18, 1924 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Paul Hartman Ludwig, Sr. and Grace Stauffer Ludwig. She graduated from Argentine High School in May 1942. Myrtle married Charles "Pete" Regan in June of 1942. Pete was killed when his aircraft was shot down over France in World War II. On March 31, 1946, she married Edgar Herman Fisher, Jr., they were married for 31 years. Myrtle worked as a clerk for the Santa Fe Railroad and retired from United Missouri Bank with over 20 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed many trips abroad, visiting many foreign countries (with Australia being her favorite foreign country to visit). She also did extensive travel throughout the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii). Myrtle was a lifelong member of Emerson Park Christian Church. During her membership, she held many jobs within the church as well as serving as a youth director, a deaconess, and an elder. She also served as a Room Mother while her kids were in elementary school and as a Den Mother during her son's Cub Scout days. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Charles (Pete Regan); husband, Edgar H. Fisher, Jr.; a son, Thomas Hartman Regan; a brother, Paul H. Ludwig, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Banick and Barbara Jean Ofenstein. Myrtle is survived by a son, Edgar Paul Fisher (wife Rosalyn) of Shawnee, Kansas, a son, David Herman Fisher (wife Dana) of Peru, Indiana; a brother, Dennis Ludwig (wife Bonnie) of Kansas City, Kansas; five granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association and/or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the owners and staff of Shawnee Heartland Assisted Living, the staffs of The Sweet Life-Rosehill and Brookdale Hospice for their care in recent years.
