I have so many fond memories of your dad.  He and my dad, Pete, were such good friends.  George was such a kind and loving man.  He will surely be missed.  Hold on to your memories  Love / Ginger Tsakonas Ragona

In Honor of George Comninellis:

The members of the Coral Ridge Yacht Club extend their sincere sympathy to George's family, friends, and his special friend and longtime companion Elaine Sourlis and her family. May the Love of God surround you especially during this time of sorrow. You are in our thoughts and prayers. This is the time to focus on the happy memories that we all shared with George, reflect on how he enjoyed every aspect of the life that God had given him, and how he could turn every challenge into an adventure.

George was a first class gentleman. We will always remember him for his welcoming smile that was always present and genuine, his unlimited energy, and his enthusiasm that was very contagious. He was always willing to lend a helping hand while turning the experience into an adventure. George was a passionate person who loved and lived life to the fullest. He had a very special talent for discovering the best in people and then nurturing their special talent in a way that enhanced their life and his as well. George was world traveler, and gourmet chef, an exciting story teller, a smart dresser, an avid soccer fan, a very knowledgeable yachtsman, and a cherishing family man. He was always very thankful to God for His many blessings.

Now, a few months short of eighty years of earth exploration, His God has called our dear friend George to a new adventure. God's ship has been waiting at the harbor of death and the crew of angels have piped George aboard, with the lines casted off, the sails filled with air, and the ship slowly departed, and for all of us left here on shore, we wept with sorrow for the loss of this special man. As his ship moved away it appeared to get smaller with every mile and when it approached the horizon where sky and sea come together it disappeared. We all cried out George is gone!
 
We must have faith in the belief that George is on another adventure and that he had just crossed over the horizon to a place that we cannot see. We must believe that beyond the horizon there is another shore were people have gather with eyes straining to see their horizon, and that someone will suddenly shout out, look, look, I see a ship out on the horizon! And as it approaches it appears larger with every mile, It is beautiful and aglow. The shore is lined with friends from afar all shouting a welcome to George. As the ship touches shore, family and friends reach out their hands and welcomes him home. God's promise of heaven is now to be explored.

Let us all keep the faith my friends, cherish the memories, and live each day to its fullest for someday each of us will be joining those who sailed before us.

Dear God, bless and protect George's family and friends as they grieve for their precious friend. May the love of their friends and family give comfort knowing that they are not alone.

My heart is saddened at the loss of George. I first met him over 3 decades ago, when I became friends with Maria. As a teenager I thought he was one of the most handsome, distinguished and charming men I'd ever met. 35 years later, he still held the title. My love and deepest condolences are with your family now.

George was a champion in everything he did. And he was always friendly regardless of where we met from the top of the Hilton in Athens, to New York, to the streets of Parkville. We have lost a leader and a friend.

For the last thirteen years it has been a privilege to be married to your daughter. I will cherish the memories of our trips together on the boat and our talks about life in Greece.  Thank you for your generosity your guidance and your friendship. I will miss sharing our home with you. Rest in peace my friend

I will always love and remember the man in the stylish vests with the illustrative story telling who taught my husband to cook traditional soups who could draw like an engineer while playing pictionary and who was always classy. Eternal love for your eternal memory papou.
