Isabel Martinez

Isabel Martínez was born on March 2, 1943, in the city of Chihuahua, Chihuahua. When she was very young, she was adopted by Mr. Federico Martínez and Hilaria Cardona who took her to the city of Torreón, Coahuila. After the death of her father that she loved so much she was interned in a convent where she learned various skills, such as sewing, cooking among others. At the age of 17 one of the mothers of the convent gave her money to buy some things and she took the opportunity to escape, with that money she bought a bus ticket and went to the house of her sister Maria who lived in Chihuahua. Sometime later she returned but to the house of his adoptive mother Hilaria.

Isabel was a mother who with her actions showed how much she loved her children, Miguel Angel, Federico (+) Jesús Manuel, Susana, Alejandra, Juan Carlos, Francisco Javier, and Martha Patricia, she was a loving grandmother of 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In 1984 he moved to Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua.

Years later she was left in the care of her grandchildren who she saw and raised as her own children Martha Carolina, Juan Miguel, Jesus, Diana, Karla Susana, and Blanca Isabel. In the year of 1999, she was no longer in charge of her grandchildren, so she decided to reunite with her children who were in the United States. On October 31, she arrived in Kansas City, Missouri. Shortly after arriving she joined the Westport Salvation Army where years later made her step of faith to become a soldier. She continued to support her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout their years until the last day of her life, as her family was the most important thing to her.

Isabel was a loving woman, strong character, very frank, noble, hard worker, brave, devout, fearful of God, an excellent cook, was a counselor, smiling, scolding, good listener, had an endless number of qualities.

Rest in peace our mother, grandmother, friend, mother-in-law, sister in Christ.

A visitation for Isabel will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Salvation Army Blue Valley Corps, 6618 East Truman Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64126. A funeral services will occur Monday, May 15, 2023 at 6:00 PM, 6618 East Truman Road, Kansas City, Missoouri 64126. A visitation will occur Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6618 East Truman Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64126.

Isabel will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112; Garden of Valor; Section: B, Lot: 151, Grave: 4.

Isabel Martínez nació el 2 de marzo de 1943, en la ciudad de Chihuahua, Chihuahua. Cuando era muy pequeña fue adoptada por el señor Federico Martínez e Hilaría Cardona quienes la llevaron a la ciudad de Torreón, Coahuila. Después del fallecimiento de su padre que amo tanto fue internada en un convento donde aprendió varías habilidades, tales como costura, cocina entre otras. A la edad de 17 años una de las madres del convento le dio dinero para comprar algunas cosas y ella aprovechó la oportunidad de escapar, con el dinero compro un boleto de autobús y se fue a la casa de su hermana María quien vivía en chihuahua. Tiempo después regreso, pero a casa de su madre adoptiva Hilaría.

Isabel era una madre que con sus acciones demostraba lo mucho que amaba a sus hijos, Miguel Ángel, Federico (+) Jesús Manuel, Susana, Alejandra, Juan Carlos, Francisco Javier y Martha Patricia, fue una abuela amorosa de 26 nietos y 18 bisnietos. En el año de 1984 se mudó a Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua.

Años después se quedó al cuidado de sus nietos que vio y crio como hijos propios Martha Carolina, Juan Miguel, Jesús, Diana, Karla Susana y Blanca Isabel. En el año de 1999 ella ya no estaba a cargo de sus nietos así que decidió reunirse con sus hijos que estaban en Estados Unidos. El 31 de octubre llega a Kansas City, Missouri. Al poco tiempo de llegar se incorporó al Ejército de Salvación de Westport donde años después hizo su paso de fe para convertirse en soldado. Ella siguió apoyando a sus hij@s, nietos y bisnietos a lo largo de sus años hasta el último día de su vida, ya que para ella su familia era lo más importante.

Isabel era una mujer amorosa, de carácter fuerte, muy franca, noble, trabajará, valiente, devota, temerosa a Dios, una excelente cocinera, era consejera, sonriente, regañona, buena oyente, tenía un sin fin de cualidades.
