James Carter Sr.

James Carter Sr., 77, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Carter was born in Rosedale, Mississippi and was a resident of Kansas City, Kansas since the early 70’s. Mr. Carter belonged to the Community Missionary Baptist Church where he was a Trustee and a faithful member. James leaves to cherish his memory his loving sister Georgia M. Smith of Detroit, Michigan, daughters: Shirley Stancill of Detroit, Michigan, Rosie L. Carter of Kansas City, Kansas, Linette R. Carter of Kansas City, Kansas, Chiquita L. Carter of Kansas City, Kansas, and son Jeffory Carter, also of Kansas City, Kansas; 8 grandchildren: James Carter III, Timothy Hutchson, Morris Wells (Pac-man), Jenny Hutchson, Danielle Carter, LaKeisha Carter, LaCreshia Wells, and Aakeila Carter. Services will be held at Community Missionary Baptist Church located at 1300 Meadowlark Lane in Kansas City, Kansas on Friday, February 19, 2016. The visitation will be from 10:00- 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. The interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kansas.
