
Jim was born in Kansas City, Kansas in 1926. He served in World War II with the United States Army 33rd Division, 136th Bearcats Company D and with the 6th Army Rangers. For his service, Jim was awarded the Army’s Combat Infantry Badge, Army Distinguished Medal and the Bronze Star along with other commendations.
In 1948, Jim married Frances L. Huff and lived in Kansas City, Kansas with their three daughters, Susan, Stephanie and Rebecca and sons, Jeffrey and Christopher. He worked for many years at Certainteed-St. Gobain as a supervisor and finished his career by managing the first solar powered office complex in the United States located in Golden, Colorado. Upon his retirement, Jim returned to Kansas City and lived in the same home they purchased in 1950. He spent his retirement years fishing, making stained glass and building custom fishing rods.
Jim was the son of LeRoy and Josephine Parker. His siblings included four sisters, Shirley, Betty, Mary and Midge and one brother, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, Midge, Buddy and wife, Frances. In addition to their five children, Jim and Frances had seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
It was Jim’s request that no services take place but he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
