Janice Deane Collins, 80, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away January 7th at home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 16th with visitation from 1-2pm, all at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Kansas City Pet Project, 4400 Raytown Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64129.
She was born December 29, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas and was adopted by Orville and Zora Barkwell. Janice graduated from Ward High School and married Ellis “Lucky” Collins in the mid-1950s. She was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling, auto racing, crafting and animals.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lucky Collins; her brother, Joseph Barkwell; and her granddaughter, Amie Collins.
She is survived by her children, Lloyd and Rochelle Collins of Kansas City, Kansas, and Cassandra Collins-Elder; three grandchildren, Michelle Collins, Shane Massing, and Breezi Maciel; numerous great-grandchildren, other siblings and extended family.
