

Joseph “Joe” B. De Leon, 71, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 17th from 2:00-3:00 PM with a funeral service at 3:00 PM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCKS, 66112. Ph: 913-334-3366. Military honors will follow services at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sarah De Leon Scholarship Fund, in care of Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home.
Joe was born January 24, 1944, to Joseph and Margaret De Leon in KCMO. He grew up in KCK where he attended Argentine High School and was a graduate of KCKCC. Joe joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. Upon his return, Joe worked for Automatic Systems, Inc. for 20+ years. On January 6, 1991, Joe married Jane Susan Stock. He was a fan of KU basketball, musicals, traveling and Fox News but most of all loved watching his grandchildren play sports and coaching softball.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Margaret and a daughter, Sarah. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Jane; children, Matthew De Leon and Rachel (Jeff) Kennard; grandchildren, Zoey and Zailey De Leon and Connor, Jackie, and Claire Kennard; sister, Adele (David) Nail; brothers, Dan (Janet) De Leon, David (Jerri) De Leon, and Mark (Sherry) De Leon; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
