Joseph "Big Joe" Thomas Nick

Joseph Thomas Nick, 72, passed away on August 31, 2020 at St. Joseph Medical Center. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, September 11th at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., KCK. Drive up visitation will be held Friday, September 11th from 6-8 pm at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK.

Joseph was born on June 6, 1948 in Kansas City, KS. He was married to Linda Sue Nick for almost 50 years. He was employed as a sheet metal tradesman for over 40 years. He retired from GM after 35 years of employment in the skilled trades. Right after high school he learned to fly at the old Fairfax airport. Joe was a member of the Christ the King Parish for many years & was also a member of the KC Blues Society. He loved barbequing, Blues music, telling jokes & sharing his wisdom. He was a father figure to many & always carried on in his life with great morality. He was a big man with a huge heart. He was loved by many & will be missed by everyone who met him. We will always Love you Big Joe!

He was preceded in death by his father Frank F. Nick & his mother Margaret Nick (Westermann).

Joseph was survived by his wife Linda S. Nick, sons; Joseph P. Nick, Richard G. Nick, & Christopher T. Nick, grandsons; Christopher Hayden Nick, Brody M. Nick, Axl J. Nick & Oynx J. Nick, siblings; Frank F. Nick Jr., Cecilia Nick Jaggard & Eugene A. Nick.
