

Karlie Rae Spurgeon, age 18, of Edwardsville, Kansas, passed away February 29, 2012 at the Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
Karlie was born March 5, 1993 in Merriam, Kansas, the daughter of Wade and Linda Spurgeon. A lifelong Wyandotte County resident, she attended the Whittier Elementary School in Kansas City, Kansas; Clark Middle School in Bonner Springs, Kansas and Bonner Springs High School where she graduated in 2011.
Karlie had worked at the Shell Gas Station in Edwardsville, and on January 16th, she started working at the Hollywood Casino in Kansas City, Kansas. She attended the Haven Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas and the Lenexa Christian Center aka 180 Center.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother: Frances Spurgeon; step-grandfather: Bo Keigley and her great-grandmother: Letha Keigley. Karlie is survived by her parents: Robert “Wade” & Linda Spurgeon and by her brothers: Aaron & Daniel Spurgeon who will both be her Pallbearers. Karlie leaves behind many other family members along with countless friends.
