Leonard Lester Jones Jr.

Leonard Lester Jones, Jr., 83, passed away March 1, 2016. Leonard was born May, 10, 1932 to Leonard Lester Jones, Sr. and Mildred Marie Overcash. He attended Blessed Sacrament and Ward High School. Leonard worked in the automotive frame repair industry for 40 years. In his free time, Leonard enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening, often caring for 100 tomato plants at one time.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Lang. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 63 years, Sharon; sisters, Marian Airington, Florence (Fred) Wilbur, and Phyllis Carrico; a brother, George (Barbara) Jones as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation will be held Sunday, March 6th from 5:00-6:30PM with a Rosary to begin at 6:30PM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Funeral service will be Monday, March 7th at 10:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow the funeral at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 126th & Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Leonard’s name to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
