

Mark Kavanaugh, 59, of Kansas City, KS, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 18th at home. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, September 22nd at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 23rd at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mark Kavanaugh Memorial Fund, c/o Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home.
Mark was born May 31, 1955 in KCK to Robert and Hedwig Kavanaugh. He graduated from Bishop Ward and worked for the KCK Fire Department for 32 years, retiring as Captain. Mark was a member of the Fire Fighters Union, Local 64. He married Regena “Jeannie” Kavanaugh and had two wonderful children, Jacob and Lindsey. The only thing that rivaled his love for his family was his love of OU football, Chicago Blackhawks hockey and physical fitness.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hedwig Kavanaugh. Mark is survived by his father, Robert Kavanaugh, his wife, Regena “Jeannie” Kavanaugh; his children, Jacob Kavanaugh (Kimberly) and Lindsey Turner (Travis); his grandchildren, Dillon and Hailey Kavanaugh and Brooklyn Turner; his siblings, Marsha Russell (Glenn), Shawn Kavanaugh (Teresa) and sister-in-law, Dee Davis; as well as several nieces, nephews other family and many friends.
