Mary Anne Bernard

Mary Anne (Heitmeyer) Bernard age 71, of Paola, Kansas passed away Saturday March 20, 2010 at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, KS. A visitation and service of remembrance will be held from 12:00-2:00 P.M. on Saturday March 27, 2010 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Private burial to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association. Mary Anne was born on November 24, 1938 in Concordia, MO to Frederick and Ella (Morrison) Heitmeyer. She was a graduate of Wyandotte High School. She retired after working 30 years for the Home Builders Association. Mary Anne enjoyed attending Kansas City Dinner Theater, family vacations in Branson, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Paola. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, James (Matt) Bernard. Survivors include 2 daughters, Marty Anne Jones and Jamie Bernard-Drakey; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Bernard; a brother, James Philip Heitmeyer (Sherry); and three grandchildren, Amber Coleen Jones, April Coleen Jones, and James Edward Bernard. Mary Anne was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed and live forever in our hearts.
