

With love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Mary Helen Porras, who passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at Saint Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Born on September 8, 1934, to Mary and Lino Lerma, Mary Helen brought warmth, strength, and joy into the world from the very beginning. A lifelong resident of Kansas City, KS, she filled her home and community with generosity, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Mary Helen is reunited in eternal peace with her husband, Bernie Porras, and her cherished daughters Linda Adcox Porras and Sandra Juarez Porras. Though passing leaves an ache in many hearts, her spirit lives on in the family she nurtured, inspired, and loved so deeply.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons Ronald Porras and Raymond Porras; her daughters Antionette Brady and Julie McQueeny; and her grandchildren Matthew Brady, Christopher Brady, Lucas Porras, Steven Solis, Anna McQueeny, and Michael Joseph McQueeny III. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Mason and Alexis Brady, Remi Brady; Greyson and Sophia Porras; and Dominic and Dimitrius Solis, each carrying forward a piece of her enduring love.
Mary Helen is also survived by her sister Esther Guerra, her brother Lino Lerma, and her nieces Gloria, Delores, Evita, Maria, their families, and numerous beloved cousins who shared joys and memories in her life.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all relatives and friends who offered support, comfort, and companionship during this time. A special expression of gratitude goes to the compassionate staff of Saint Luke’s Hospice House for the exceptional care they provided to Mary Helen and to all who came to visit her.
Mary Helen will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, KS, where she will remain forever in the hearts of those who love her.

A visitation will be held at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, located at 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112, on December 21, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Patrick's Church Kansas, 1086 N 94th St, Kansas City, KS 66112, on December 22, 2025, starting at 10:00 am.
The final resting place will be Mt. Calvary Cemetery, located at 1150 North 38th Street, Kansas City, Kansas.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Porras, Ronald Porras, Matthew Brady, Christopher Brady, Michael Joseph McQueeny, and Lucas Porras.
