

Maxine Corbin, 92, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away December 18, 2013 at home. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 21st at Chapel Hill-Butler, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 9233 Ward Parkway # 201, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.
Maxine was born April 30, 1921 in Flemington, Missouri to John and Lucy McCracken. She grew up in Missouri and graduated from high school. Maxine moved to Kansas City and married Floyd in 1948. She owned Maxine’s Beauty Shop for many years and taking care of her ladies was a point of pride. Maxine loved her family and they would do many things together, she has tried canning, gardening, ceramic painting, crafting and latch-hooks. She was a wonderful cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucy McCracken, her first husband Harold Staten and her second husband Floyd Corbin, as well as seven brothers and sisters.
Maxine is survived by her children, Doris Elaine Karnes, Terry D. Staten (Janet), Linda K. Lea (James), Sharon Nirschl (Terry); one sister, Jean Hutton; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
