Maxine Curry, 90, Kansas City, Kansas passed away July 26, 2018. A visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Monday, July 30, 2018 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas. A funeral service will take place the following day, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 31, 2018, also at the funeral home. Interment will be immediately following in Edwardsville City Cemetery.
Maxine was born on May 10, 1928 in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated from Axtell High School in Axtell, Kansas in 1945. Maxine was a beautician for a few years and then became a secretary for many years for KC Vaccine Company in the Stockyards in Kansas City, Missouri.
Maxine was married to Hap Curry in 1971 until his passing in 2017. Together they traveled the world and flew the Concorde. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved quilting, crocheting and doing crafts.
She was preceded in passing by her brother, Howard; sister, Laura Lou; mother, Ellen; her pop, Harlan; husband, Hap; and one step-son.
Maxine is survived by her children, Bob (Joan) McKinley of Axtell, Kansas, Lana (Ray) Smith of Kansas City, Kansas, Janice (Mike) Barnes of Edwardsville, Kansas, Jo Ellen Lynch of Kansas City, Kansas, and Dennis (Kim) McKinley of Kansas City, Kansas; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, LJ (Melva) Elder and sister, Rose Ann (John) Linton; and 5 step-children.
