

Nadean M. Tanney, 94, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Saturday January 10th, 2014 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m., on Tuesday, January 13th at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Friends may call from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill-Butler Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14th. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Pet Project.
Mrs. Tanney was born on May 18th, 1920 in Walker, Missouri and has been a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kansas and most recently 10 years in Lansing, KS. She was a Cashier at Ball's on 55th and Leavenworth Rd. and retired after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Tanney was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Tanney “Doc” her mother, Gertrude N. Ferguson, her father, Albert W. Ferguson & her brother, Jim Stackhaus.
Survivors include her son, Edward D. Tanney and his wife Julia M. Tanney of Basehor, Kansas; four grandchildren, Sharon Hines-Ice and her husband Gary Ice, Becky Huston and her husband Jason Huston, Joey Tanney and his wife Kristina Tanney, and Megan Tanney; 6 great-grandchildren, Kennedy Hines, Lindsey Chilson, Michael Chilson, L.J. Tanney, Declan Tanney and Miles Tanney; 3 nieces and 2 nephews, Terre Tanney and his wife Erika Tanney, Sharon Hamilton and her husband Don Hamilton, Linda Miller, Jim Stackhaus and his wife Mary Agnes Stackhaus, and Joan O'Halloran and her husband Rick O'Halloran.
