Orval Delbert Smith

Delbert was born 27 June 1943 to Orval C. Smith and Helen Dove (Williams) Smith.

Delbert met a 15 year old Vicky J. Reid at Jubilee City in Kansas City, Kansas where they both worked.It took Him three years to wear her down. Delbert and Vicky were Married on 23 August 1964 and have had a 57 year Love affair that has lasted through the ups and downs of life. They raised their Family in Tonganoxie, Kansas before retiring in 2000 to Arizona settling in Yuma Arizona in 2008. They moved to Oskaloosa, Kansas in spring of 2021.

Delbert was a service man for Kansas City, Missouri Gas. He retired in 2001 after proudly serving 37 years.

Delbert leaves behind His wife Vicky of the home, Son Michael and Daughter in law Kimberly of Oskaloosa, his Brother Daryl and wife Gladys of Washington State and Sister-in-Law Vivian Smith of Tonganoxie Kansas. Delbert will be missed by seven Grandchildren, seven great Grandchildren and many Neices and Nephews.

A Memorial service will be held 12 Feb 22 at 11:00 AM at Oskaloosa United Methodist Church, 402 Liberty St. Oskaloosa Kansas 66066. In lieu of Flowers the request donating to America Legion post #36 Oskaloosa.
