Rachel Jeanette Goodall, lovingly known as "Jeanette," passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Friday, January 3, 2025, in Kansas City, KS. She was born on May 23, 1941, in Kansas City, KS, to Ralph and Helen Furlong and spent her life rooted in the community she cherished.
On July 3, 1956, Jeanette married the love of her life, Leland "Junior" Goodall. Together they built a family and a legacy of faith and devotion. Jeanette was predeceased by her beloved husband two years ago; her parents; siblings Dorothy, Betty, and Les; a son, Leland "Buddy" Goodall; and a daughter, Gail Innis.
Jeanette was a devout member of Liberty Baptist Church, where her faith guided every aspect of her life. She dedicated herself to serving others through her role as director of the ladies' prayer-chain group and shared her unique gift of signing gospel music before services. Her unwavering commitment to the Lord was evident in all she did.
Jeanette faced significant challenges in her life with grace and determination. Stricken with polio in her teenage years, she overcame immense obstacles to walk again. In later years, she endured post-polio syndrome, which eventually led to progressive muscle weakness and limited mobility. Despite these hardships, she remained steadfast in her faith and creative pursuits.
A creative spirit, Jeanette enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout her life. She crocheted beautiful pieces, crafted ceramics and wood projects, tended to her garden with care, and most recently found joy in creating intricate diamond dot pictures.
She is survived by a daughter, Shawna Ware (Dennis Ware), and son, Melvin Goodall; numerous grandchildren including Micah Ware, Jason Ware, Jennifer Phillips, Kris Goodall, Dustin Goodall, Brandon Goodall, Crystal Goodall, Amy Goodall, Michael Goodall, Melissa Huffman, Megan Goodall, Lindsay Bright, and Amanda Bustamante; a host of great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (701 North 94th Street in Kansas City, KS) on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Due to inclement weather conditions, there will be no graveside services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church (13101 Parallel Pkwy., Kansas City, KS) for their Angel Tree fund or Gideon's Bible fund.
Jeanette's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
