

Ralph F. Taylor, 81, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away October 27, 2015. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, October 30th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Graveside services with Honors will be 9:00 am, Saturday, October 31st at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters, 1709 Walnut St, Kansas City, MO 64108.
Ralph was born September 17, 1934 in Pierce, CO to Rowan and Opal Taylor. He graduated from High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in the 24th Signal Company, 24th Infantry Division in Korea. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Ralph married Beverly Wilkerson on July 17, 1957. He worked for Bennett Box for many years and retired in 2004 after working as a building maintenance supervisor and plumber at Quindaro Homes. Ralph was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed bowling and always had a woodworking project.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mildred “Jackie” O’Neil; and his son-in-law, J.R. Darting.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly Taylor; his children, Maggie Darting (late J.R. Darting), Thomas J. Taylor (Lana), Fred Taylor, and Noel Taylor (Kim); his grandchildren, Army SSG at Ft. Leavenworth Tim Martin (Stephanie), Kyle Martin (Angel), Air Force SSG in Germany Thomas M. Taylor (Toni), Kelli Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Alexis Taylor, Brandon Taylor and Quentin Taylor; His great-grandchildren, Johnathan and Hayley-Michelle Martin, and Levi and Lylah Taylor; his siblings, Peggy Spears, Don Taylor, Dean Taylor, and Gilbert Funderberg; as well as many other relatives and friends.
