

Richard H. Felix, Sr., 84, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Sharon Lane Nursing Home where he was living, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 28th, at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. The family requests that any contributions be made to Odyssey Hospice. Richard was born April 1, 1925 in Kansas City, KS to Antonio and Mildred (Haire) Felix. He was a lifelong area resident, serving his country in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II, and then as a Firefighter, Sheriffs Deputy, and Reserve Police Officer, retiring from the KCK School District. He was a practical joker throughout his entire life, loving to shop at this favorite store, Spencer Gifts. His witty humor made his family laugh until the very end. He always enjoyed music, and playing in the nursing home band always brought a smile to his face. Richard leaves behind 2 sons, Richard Felix, Jr. (Kim) and Kenny Felix; 7 daughters, Carol Russell (Toby-Kenny), Alice Colvin (David), Jeanie Green (Bob), Dee Luttrell (Rick), Nancy Felix-Millen (David), Linda Rafols, Betty Lou Lane (Bob); 5 brothers, Frank Felix, Robert Felix, Lawrence Felix, Raymond Felix, and Antonio Carmelo Felix; 23 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. He now goes to enjoy his everlasting life with his wife who preceded him in death 25 years ago, whom he missed and loved so much!
