

Robert (Griz) Kent Ziesler, 70 years young of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully on December 27th, 2025, at KU Medical Center. Needless to say, his passing has left a void in all of our hearts. He truly fought the fight until his heart failed.
He was born January 31st, 1955, in Kansas City, Kansas, and was a lifelong resident.
He was a 1973 graduate of Washington High School. He attended Pittsburgh University (PITT) Bulldog, where he played football as an offensive lineman.
Throughout his life, Bob played drums in a band; music was his passion and very important to him. Bob was an avid book reader and enjoyed sports. Music and sports books were his most popular picks.
In 1977, Bob received certifications in which he was licensed and certified in radio communication in the states of Colorado and New Mexico. He became a radio host/DJ, playing music at the local radio stations and sharing his love for music.
Bob's dedication as a single father is an understatement to his 2 boys, Michael and Andrew.
Bob began to work for the Unified Government in the water pollution department as a supervisor, from which he retired after dedicating 43 years of his life to his career. He and his family are very proud of this accomplishment.
Bob had a profound sense of humor that touched the lives of so many.
Throughout his life, he found great joy in following sports and could recite/recount endless stats and players with impressive detail. He shared the love of sports with his wife, boys, grandchildren, and friends, creating lasting memories at countless home games and at-home gatherings. Bob was a season ticket holder for the Chiefs franchise for over 40 years. He was a true legend for his passion for the Chiefs/Royals.
Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Gayle L. Cummings, and birth father, William E. Ziesler.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Denise Ziesler; his father, Harold R. Cummings; and his sons, Michael (Jessica) Ziesler and Andrew (Megan) Ziesler. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Jaydin, Elena, Bella, Anthony, Chance, Julian, and Charlie, and siblings Tim (Carol) Cummings, Sara Cummings, Jennifer (John) Kirse, and Dan (Marni) Cummings, along with many nieces and nephews.
Bob will be missed by so many!
A memorial visitation will be held at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, located at 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS, 66112. The visitation is scheduled for January 11, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
