

Roy Leon Wright, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on May 8th, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and service. A proud Navy veteran, Roy served during the Vietnam War with unwavering dedication to his country.
He was the devoted husband of his late wife, Hope Wright, and together they built a life filled with deep love and cherished memories. Roy is survived by his beloved siblings, Judy, Hazel, and Phillip, who stood by him through life’s joys and challenges, sharing an unbreakable bond. He also carries the memory of his late sister and brother, Mary and Bill, whose presence remains forever in their hearts.
Family meant everything to Roy, and he found immense joy in the lives of his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Whether offering wisdom, laughter, or a listening ear, he was a source of comfort. His granddaughter, Dana Fortner, cared for him with unwavering love, ensuring his days were filled with warmth and support. Roy also adored his great-grandchildren—Layla, Landyn, Devin, Nadia, Lillyan, and Blayze—whose laughter and energy brought light into his life.
Roy will be remembered for his boundless love and devotion to those around him. As he finds peace, he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Hope, and their stillborn son, Baby Boy Roy, along with step children Tammy and Earl, embracing them all once more in eternal love.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday June 17, 2025 at 10:00 am at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
