Pat was born on May 3, 1942, in Morganton, North Carolina, to Thomas and Dorothy (Kincaid) Moran. She moved to Kansas City in 1962, the city she proudly called home for more than six decades.
Pat shared 62 loving years of marriage with her husband, Douglas Burnett. The two met in 1961 while Doug was stationed in Indian Head, Maryland, serving as a Navy officer. Their bond grew into a lifetime of partnership marked by love, laughter, and deep devotion to family. Doug survives her, carrying forward the legacy they built together.
In the 1960s, Pat worked as a secretary at a local bank before choosing to dedicate herself full-time to raising her children during the 1970s and 1980s. She was a devoted mother and later a cherished grandmother, always ready to lend a helping hand — especially by caring for her grandchildren while their parents worked.
Pat had a passion for travel, particularly enjoying cruises and visits to Maryland and North Carolina, where she spent treasured time with extended family. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering support left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Dorothy; and her brothers, Mickey Moran and Martin Moran.
Pat is survived by her loving husband, Douglas Burnett; her son, Chad Burnett of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Alexa LeRoy of Lawson, MO; her brother, Danny Moran; sisters, Kathy Demaret, Suzan Weaver, and Lisa Welch; and six beloved grandchildren.
In accordance with Pat’s wishes, cremation will take place. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112.
She will be remembered always for her gentle spirit, loving heart, and devotion to her family.
