Stanley Jay Near passed away on December 10th 2020 in Kansas City, KS in Hospice Care. He was born July 16th, 1951 in Shelby MI to Everett Near and Juanda (Howard) Near Hasty. He was married to Barbara (Iams) Near February 18th. 2000.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; his son, Jack (Melissa) Near; his Brother, Burl (Marlene) Near; stepsons, Troy (Jennifer) Crysler, Jeffrey (Ruby) Crysler and Steven Crysler; and his grandchildren, Peyton, Connor, Gavin and Adelynn; many cousins and dear friends.
Stan retired from teaching at Muskegon Hts. High School. He was a long time member and past Secretary of the Muskegon Rec Club. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. Stan loved hunting, fishing, deep sea diving and was an avid reader. The light of his life were his grandchildren.
He will be cremated at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home in Kansas City.
Due to Covid restrictions a Memorial Service will be held in the spring in Muskegon, MI and buried in Egleston Township Cemetery.
