Víctor Manuel Saavedra, age 81, of Olathe, KS, passed away in his home on December 16, 2025. He was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on August 4, 1944 to parents Blanca Rosa Fritti Saavedra and Carlos Alfonzo Saavedra.
Victor was an entrepreneur in flooring as well as he worked for Weber Carpet for many years as a flooring installer up until his retirement. Victor loved to travel, fishing, hunting, cooking, making wine and gardening. He even won an award from the City of Olathe for his home gardening display. Victor would often let families and neighbors pick fruits and vegetables from his garden out of kindness.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his four daughters, Mónica Saavedra, Rita Saavedra, Tanya (Scott) Wilkey, and Tara Saavedra; his siblings Carlos (Alma) Saavedra, Dolores (Dick) Victor, Alba (Marco) Morales, and Patricia (Chuck) Hardy; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his cat Sadie.
Services will be held Friday, January 2, 2026 at Chapel Hill- Butler Funeral Home located at 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. . Visitation begins at 12:00 pm followed by a 1:00 pm service. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
