Pastor Wachong David Thao was born June 15, 1957 in Ban Nanphou, Xiangkhuouag Providence, Laos to Sai Doua Thao and Khou Vang. He was the first of four children. His sister Maivsuav, preceeded him in death and two brothers; Daniel and Gideon of Kansas City, Kansas.
On Thursday, July 20, 2023, the Lord called him home in the peace at his home, the age of around 59. He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted and beloved wife, Rahap Choo, his son Chuawa and his daughters; Sarai and Ruth.
Pastor Wachong will be fondly remembered by family, fellow pastors, and friends as a loving father, minister, preacher, and song writer and singer.

A funeral service will occur Monday, September 18, 2023 at 9:30 AM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. A graveside service will occur Monday, September 18, 2023 at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Parallel Pkwy & N 126th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66109.
