Wesley Darrel Williams, 101, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 31, 2020. He lived life to the fullest until the passing of his beloved wife, Roberta Fletchall, on February 8, 2020. They would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on June 30, 2020. Visitation will be 11:00 am on Sunday, September 6, 2020 with funeral services beginning at 12:00 pm at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N 94th Street, Kansas City, KS. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Wesley was born on February 17, 1919 to Elzie Orville Williams and Mattie Elizabeth White in Versailles, Missouri. He was raised in the Versailles area until serving in the Army of the United States from 1941 to 1945. He then moved to Kansas City, Kansas and worked as a mechanic until he was hired at General Motors in the Fairfax district in 1949. He worked in material until he retired in 1979.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, brothers Keith Williams, Orville Williams, Norman Williams and sisters Lorene Petree and Bonnie Carter. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Garrel) Allen, his son, Robert Darrel (Cherie) Williams. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandy (Chad) Estes, Wesley Scott Williams, and Allison Christine Williams and 5 great-grandchildren and one expected great, great grandchild. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
