William J. Ambrose, Jr., 90, Kansas City, Kansas passed away January 10, 2018. A visitation will be from 1-2 PM, with a funeral service at 2 PM, Monday, January 15, 2018 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will be immediately following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the donor’s choice.
William was born on February 15, 1927 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard prior to settling in Kansas City, KS. He retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas Company after working for over 35 years. He was a founding member of Victory Hills Baptist Church, a passionate gardener and an avid volunteer for numerous organizations throughout Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty in 1981 and all of his siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; children, Paul Graether, Doug Graether, William “Butch” (Cindy) Ambrose, Gordon Ambrose, Melody (Tom Brady) Ambrose, Anna (Greg Schultz) Graether; numerous loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
