
Albert "Al" J. Ohmes, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2011, at 9 a.m. followed by a Deaconal Prayer Service and Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, formerly St. Stephen's, 1029 Bennington KCMO 64126. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Originally from Greeley, KS, Al graduated from Bishop Ward High School. He was a Master Sgt. in the Kansas National Guard from 1958-1966; he retired from Phillips Petroleum in KCKS and Allstate Insurance Co. Al was ordained into the Permanent Deaconate for the KC-St. Joseph Diocese in 1978 and retired in 2001. When not attempting his 6th hole-in-one, Al enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, watching them play sports and "being ready for his pie." Al was preceded in death by his brother, Wendell and is survived by his wife, Bernadine; daughters, Laura Crockett (Rick), Jane Mirshak (Robert), Janet Malena (Steve), Ellen Jantzen (Vaughn) and Rita Madden (Todd); sisters, Dorlene Lawrence, Rita Seago, Lucille Healey (Jim) and Mary Bernadine Wolf (Walt); sister-in-law, Margie and grandchildren, Kimberly, Cathy, Joshua, C.J., Elizabeth, Erik, Charlie, Danny, Emily, Aaron and Margaret.
