

Alice Beaty peacefully departed from this world on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in the comfort of her home. She was 94 years old. Alice lived a long and enriching life, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Alice spent most of her life in the Kansas City area, where she was raised and established her home. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Alphonse and Susana Chauvin, her devoted husband of 60 years, Joseph Beaty, her sister, Suzanne (Chauvin) Kear, her brothers, Alphonse Chauvin Jr. and Robert Chauvin, as well as her great-granddaughter, Alexiz Nevarez and great-grandson, Stephen Smith.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Joette (Beaty) Reitinger and Janet (Beaty) Eastman, along with their respective husbands, Bob Reitinger and Jerry Eastman. She is also remembered by her four grandchildren, Lisa (Sears) Nevarez, Lorie (Sears) Simpson, Michael Sears, and Christine Eastman. Her legacy extends further through her 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Alice is also survived by her siblings, MaryJane Duke of Perry, GA, Lucie (Chauvin) Wainstock of Kansas City, MO, Peggy (Chauvin) Gardner of Nixa, MO, and Linda (Chauvin) Shank of San Diego, CA. She is additionally survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Alice and her beloved husband, Joe Beaty, embarked on an entrepreneurial journey over 60 years ago, founding Sunlight Services. Even after Joe's passing in 1989, Alice admirably continued to lead the business until 2009, demonstrating remarkable dedication and resilience.
A family-oriented woman, Alice found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones, particularly her grandchildren. Sharing meals together and reveling in family gatherings filled her heart with laughter and warmth in her twilight years.
Services to honor Alice's life will be held on Monday, February 12th, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, located at 8311 W 93rd St, in Overland Park, KS. The viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by the Rosary from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, and the mass at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow the mass in the church basement. The interment will then proceed in Calvary Cemetery, situated at 6901 Troost in Kansas City, MO.
