She grew up in Kansas City in the Marshall family with her mother, father, stepfather and brother. She attended Southwest High School. Alice met Kenneth S. Olson, Sr. and married in 1946.
Alice is survived by her five sons Kenneth, Ralph, James, Gary and Jess, her daughters-in-law Pat, Denise and Jan, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Ashley, Matt, Kristin, Kaylee, Carter and her two girls she raised from birth Robin and Heather.
When Alice was asked what she did all her life, her answer was always, “raised my boys and girls, I live for them.”
Alice was a model, toe dancer and a mom, she worked part-time at “The Jones Store” and Luzier Cosmetics which she dearly loved. She very successfully raised her children after her divorce in 1972 as a single mother, she never remarried saying she was perfectly happy just raising her children.
She was a life-long member of “The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist” of Boston, Mass. She was nominated as a “reader in the church”.
Alice lived her life always thinking of others even while living at Delaware Highlands Assisted Living, always making sure everyone was smiling and always giving everyone a helping hand as best as she could going above and beyond for complete strangers. Her motto was you’re as old as you feel, so she would always tell people she was 30, she didn’t believe in telling her age to others. She always kept herself in good shape and keeping her young beautiful appearance. People constantly asked her how she did it? She would always reply, “Raising my boys keeps me young”.
She loved slot machines and always won, she loved bingo and was ever so lucky, always causing havoc with other players cause she always won.
Alice is missed by EVERYONE she knew and came in contact with, she made everyone’s life a happier one. She was always so determined and strong, going through so much throughout her life, now she’s very happy, healthy and at rest in heaven.
