Brenda Wolf (Summerskill) gave birth to Allyssa on September 7, 1979 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Allyssa grew up in Harrisonville, Missouri and graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1997.
She loved singing. Her first stage performance was a solo in 5th grade. In high school she was a member of the competition show choir. She also performed at an Opry House in Harrisonville. Every year at Christmas, Allyssa was known for O Holy Night and wasn't allowed to leave until she sung that song.
Shortly after graduation, she enlisted in the US Navy and went to Boot Camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. From there she served at a submarine repair base in Connecticut and then transferred to Bremerton, Washington aboard the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier as a payroll clerk. Her ship was in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Pakistan on 9/11 and stayed there for several months at the beginning of the war in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Following her discharge, she worked for a few years at the Veterans Hospital in Kansas City in the physical therapy department as an administrative assistant. She was a home owner and enjoyed gardening and raising beautiful flowers.
Allyssa is survived by her mother Brenda Wolf of Lee's Summit, sister Wendy Cross of Holden, Missouri, her boyfriend Matt Thieverge and her sweet dogs Emmitt and Annie. Allyssa's unique and unpredictable personality will be missed by all her family and friends.
Encompass Hospice attended to Allyssa during her illness. The hospice team provided expert and professional care. Their support, understanding and kindness made the difficult journey much more bearable.
