

She was born on October 15, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Robert Clarence Blackburn and Neita Bell (Sharitz) Blackburn.
On November 25, 1972, Anita was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clyde Allen Huffman, in Kansas City, Kansas. Together they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage before Clyde’s passing in 2017.
Anita attended Southwest High School, graduating in 1966. She and Clyde were blessed with two daughters, Amy and Jennifer. Anita devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, creating a warm, welcoming home filled with love, encouragement, and steadfast support. She found great joy in caring for her husband and children and later cherished her role as grandmother.
Anita enjoyed hosting family gatherings, fishing, gardening, playing cards and games, and playing with her grandchildren. Whether spending time with family, celebrating holidays, or simply sharing everyday moments, she treasured time together and created lasting memories for those she loved. Anita was always willing to help her family, friends and neighbors, and was very generous with her time and her home. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school in her younger years, and found joy in attending services at Bethany Assembly of God and Calvary Chapel. Anita loved to laugh, and she was always very outgoing and friendly.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Joyce Baker, and her brother, Robert Blackburn.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy Matt (Karl) of Platte City, Missouri, and Jennifer Huffman (Brett Hyatt) of Kansas City, Missouri; her beloved grandchildren, Mallory and Brenden Matt; and her sister, Carol Baker, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.
A celebration of Anita's life will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 6-8 PM, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
