

Ann Gerhardt Roberson, 84, Kansas City, MO, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital following a sudden illness. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, at Red Bridge Christian Church, 10842 McGee Street, Kansas City, MO followed by burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South.
Ann was one of twelve children born to Michael Gerhardt and Florence Coons Brumgardt Gerhardt on August 20, 1928 and was raised in Victoria, Kansas. Ann moved to Kansas City after high school and worked throughout her life, later retiring from Spencer, Fane, Britton, Brown law firm.
Ann married Arthur McGovern in 1948 and later in life married Richard Roberson. Ann was preceded in death by her husbands, three sisters Felicitas Windholz, Mary Hertel and Genevieve Edsall, four brothers August Gerhardt, Bonaventure Gerhardt, Donald Gerhardt and Michael Gerhardt, and a niece and a nephew. Ann followed son Richard (Rick) McGovern to heaven shortly after his Friday morning passing.
Ann is survived by her son John and wife Molly McGovern of Excelsior Springs, Rick’s widow Jan McGovern of Kansas City, three stepchildren Richard and wife Gail Roberson of Leawood, KS, Kathleen Roberson and William Roberson of Higginsville, MO, her grandchildren Kim and husband Sean Skelly and Megan McGovern of Kansas City, Lindsey McGovern of Excelsior Springs, James and wife Colleen Roberson of Prairie Village, KS, Daniel Roberson of Kansas City, Katherine Roberson of Prairie Village, KS and stepgreat-grandchildren Kellen and Isla Roberson.
She is also survived by her two sisters Katie Rohr of Hays, KS and Elizabeth Younger of Garden City, KS, two brothers Anton (Tony) Gerhardt of Liberal, KS, Herman Gerhardt of Russell, KS, and 31 nieces and nephews.
She was active in the Red Bridge Christian Church and Red Bridge Social Club. She enjoyed life, family and her many friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Red Bridge Christian Church or The St. Luke’s Foundation in Rick McGovern’s honor.
