Jinx was born on December 11, 1925 in Valley Falls, Kansas. She was the daughter of Larkin and Nellie (Shockley) Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Wallace and brother, Vernor H. Edwards.
Arlene attended Missouri University where she earned a degree in music and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Over the years she used her degree singing in her church choir and weddings of friends. Later in life she enjoyed playing the organ for her friends and anyone who would listen.
During her 37 year marriage to the love of her life, Marvin, she supported his military career with multiple moves. Living in Cartagena, Columbia, South America, Norfolk, VA, Albuquerque, NM, Coronado, CA and finally returning to Kansas City, MO where she was raised, each location she called home.
Jinx never knew a stranger and became the neighborhood Mom and friends to all she met. She loved her animals, reading, knitting and crocheting, often gifting her project to just the right person in her life.
Jinx never lost sight of the importance of her faith, family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Wallace (Karen), daughter Brenda Hallock (Scott), grandchildren, Jacob L. Wallace (Mary), Kirby E. Brown (Jason) and Scott Hallock, Jr. (Stephanie), great-grandchildren, Ella E. Brown, Wyatt D. Brown, Alexander E. Wallace and Carson Hallock.
