Arturo “Tury” Gonzalez, Jr., 38, of Kansas City, Missouri, died on Sunday, June 26, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011 at St. James Church in Liberty. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 30 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.
Tury was born on September 30, 1972 in El Paso, TX to Arturo and Josefina (Ledezma) Gonzalez. He was a supervisory for Wabtec for the last three years. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Manuel and Dora Gonzalez, and maternal grandmother, Elena Ledezma. Tury’s survivors include his wife of five years, Maria, of the home; five children, Benicio, Ashleigh, Gisele, Timothy and Vanessa; parents, Arturo and Josefina Gonzalez, Sr.; sisters, Araceli Gonzalez and Elizabeth Urrutia; and maternal grandfather, Jose Ledezma, all of the Kansas City area.
