

Barbara Marie Grady, 81, of Mission, Kansas passed away on July 13, 2008. Daughter of Florence and Sam Trave and sister to the late Sam, Ann, and John Trave, Barb will be deeply missed by her children, Frank Grady of Kansas City, David Grady of Half Moon Bay, California, Beth Miner of Seattle, Washington and her grandchildren: Alexis Spencer, John Grady, and Margaret Grady. Preceded in death are her husband, Michael J. Grady Sr., and son, Michael J. Grady Jr.
Born in Oklahoma City on November 23, 1926 and having lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and San Diego, California, Barbara had always considered Kansas City home. Barbara worked twenty years for Reese Nichols only recently retiring in March. With an unmatched joy for life, Barb loved to travel, especially to visit her children on the West Coast; her most recent trip was to attend her granddaughter, Alexis’ marriage in California. She loved old movies, good food, and grand celebrations. An extraordinary mother, Barbara shared her children’s joys and struggles. Most precious to Barbara were her countless friends with whom she spent hours of laughter and a few tearful moments.
A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2008 at Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main, Kansas City, Missouri. Inurnment in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. on Thursday at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 West Linwood Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri, with Rosary at 7 p.m. Donations in Barbara’s memory can be made to the Salvation Army.
