Barbara Agnes Marnett, 91, died Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011, in Nashville, TN. She was born January 21, 1920, in Kansas City, KS, one of nine children of Catherine and George Kloster. She attended St. Peter's Cathedral and Bishop Ward High School. She waited several years for the love of her life to return from World War II and on July 20, 1946, she married Lawrence Frances Marnett. They were married for 62 years before Larry's death in 2008. They had two children, Lawrence Joseph, Nashville, TN, and Robert Paul, Huntington Beach, CA. Barbara was devoted to her family and to friends. She had a warm, caring personality and put the needs of others before her own. She enjoyed life on a daily basis, and even as the ravages of time took their toll, she displayed bright, curious eyes and an infectious smile. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament and Cure of Ars churches and was very generous to a range of charities across the country.
Barbara is survived by her sons and their spouses, Nancy, and Lisa; her grandchildren, Matthew Marnett of Somerset, NJ, Alan Marnett of Boston, MA, Leslie Marnett of New York City, NY, and Beau Tazelaar of Huntington Beach, CA; her brothers, George Kloster, Sun City, AZ, and Herbert Kloster, Olathe, KS; her sisters, Carolyn Conrow, Overland Park, KS, and Lillian Clark, Atlanta, GA.
